The Harp Of Aengus

Edain came out of Midhir's hill, and lay
Beside young Aengus in his tower of glass,
Where time is drowned in odour-laden winds
And Druid moons, and murmuring of boughs,
And sleepy boughs, and boughs where apples made
Of opal and ruhy and pale chrysolite
Awake unsleeping fires; and wove seven strings,
Sweet with all music, out of his long hair,
Because her hands had been made wild by love.
When Midhir's wife had changed her to a fly,
He made a harp with Druid apple-wood
That she among her winds might know he wept;
And from that hour he has watched over none
But faithful lovers.

Creating Ecstatic Ritual with T. Thorn Coyle, Jan 17-18 [new info!]
Creating Ecstatic Ritual with T. Thorn Coyle
Austin, Texas

We are often expected to learn good ritual skills by osmosis. This only rarely works, on those precious few who learn well without structure.

This workshop will draw upon the skills and questions of all participants in order to deepen our ritual process. Experienced priests can learn how to revitalize their ritual practice, becoming more effective leaders. Those newer to the Craft can learn which questions to ask, and what energies to notice.

We will do soul work, brainstorming, creative rhythm play, singing and, of course, ritual.

This experiential workshop will include an exploration of:

1/ The necessary components for a smoothly flowing, effective ritual.
2/ What is required of a priestess?
3/ Perspectives on making certain each part of the soul is engaged in our ritual process.
4/ Tuning ourselves, attuning the group, and harmonizing the Working.
5/ Deep listening to Elementals, Gods, Guardians, Humans, and Nature.
6/ Tapping into our tools.
7/ Making music with what is at hand.

Bring instruments if you have them, notebooks, a cup and at least one other ritual tool, any altar objects you wish, and open minds and hearts.

Dates:

Saturday, 17 January
Sunday, 18 January

Times: 10am-9pm Saturday, 10am-3pm Sunday

Directions will be sent by e-mail after your fee has been received.

Cooked all morning at the parents' house. There were enchiladas, Spanish rice, a huge salad stuffed with vegetables, and pumpkin custard with whipped cream. Tonight, movies and popcorn at home.

Hope all of you have had a wonderful day.

Oh. My. God. These really are better than any glutenous cupcake I've ever eaten. I mean, Shauna said they would be. And now I believe her. Highly recommended. Recipe is here: http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com/

Dear lovelies,

Some of you have already signed up for Anne Hill's weekend workshop Nov. 8-9, and some have expressed interest but not yet registered.

We are very excited about this unique opportunity, the first time Anne has come to teach in central Texas. But we need your help to make it happen. NOW is the time to send in your registration, if you want this workshop to take place.

We are at the go/no go point right now: the organizers have to decide this week whether there is enough interest to bring Anne Hill here to do this magic with us.

As always when we bring in teachers from out of town, we must pay Anne's airfare (she needs to make a reservation soon in order to get a better rate), and she is asking for a set teacher's fee. At the same time, we are trying to keep the registration fee as low as we possibly can, so as many people as possible who want to come can be there.

The early registration discount scale starts at $140, which is rock bottom for an entire weekend. We need 15 registered participants for the workshop to make, and we do not have that number yet.

If you have been intending to register, please do, now. If your registration is postmarked by September 22, you can take the early registration discount and participate for as little as $140. If you will definitely come but can't register yet, please let me know. And ask if you have any questions.

Love and blessings
